I spent the majority of my life in England, a part of my childhood in India, and have finally settled in Defynnog near Brecon to work as a printmaker.
I trained as a graphic designer in the 60's, and worked as a designer/illustrator until printmaking became more important to me. I had been experimenting and attending classes in my own time for a long while. I finally took the plunge and obtained a degree in printmaking in Cambridge and Cardiff (moving midway) and during that time obtained a bursary to study woodblock printing in Japan.
Graphic design, illustration and printmaking are closely linked, so the transition was a natural step. I am a volunteer Open Access leader at Swansea Print Workshop, and have my own press at home. I find all printmaking methods hugely enjoyable, and am discovering new ways of making prints all the time.
