I arrived in Britain from Zimbabwe, the land of my birth, in 1962.The following four years were spent as a student of graphic design and illustration at Maidstone College of Art. These were creative, exciting times and London was in full swing. The vibe suited me well and there was much to learn.
Now based in rural Mid Wales, my work has returned to a more graphic form. Print-making and etching, in particular, now provide my main platform for expression. The landscape and mythology of Wales has always been a source of intrigue for me, and in particular, the stories from the Mabinogion.
This ancient work offers an endless stream of inspiration, which I intend to explore through print and a variety of other media, in both two and three dimension.
I draw my imagery from these folk legends, and also from a remembered African past, with tribal masks, strange customs, Greek mythology, and an input of my own imagination.
